Title:
  gnome-panel crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slice_free1()

Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  After upgrading my Natty Narwhal 64-bit install to Oneiric Ocelot,
  gnome-panel won't start any more. When I run it from an xterm window I
  get the following error message:

  (gnome-panel:3927): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_style_context_get: assertion `priv->widget_path != NULL' failed
  Segmentation fault (core dumped)

  Ubuntu is now completely unusable for me after this upgrade. It has
  left my system in a big, steaming mess.
