[Bug 894831] Re: Missing options when choosing open with other application
Well, it does not list applications that have NoDisplay=true in their
.desktop files. This is by design (not mine). Are there any other
applications that are not shown? If they do not have a .desktop file,
that is by design and bugs against that applications should be filled.
If you miss the option to add custom commands to open applications, we
can change this bug accordingly (there is probably someone who
complained in GNOME's bugtracker about the same issue:

Bug description:
I'm using Oneiric 64-bit.
When I right click a file of a certain type, for instance .docx, and choose open with -> other application, all applications in /usr/share/applications don't show and there's no option to manually browse for applications.
