[Bug 897414] Crash report cannot be processed

developers failed (it does not generate an useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

  software-center crashed with SIGSEGV

Bug description:
  I had installed a package manually - successfully, as far as I can
  tell.

  I closed Software Centre normally, and shortly afterwards got the
  Apport dialogue about reporting a bug.

  The installation, though it says it's Ubuntu 11.10, is a Precise
  testing install.
