[Bug 249208] Re: Change "Nice" to "Priority" in System Monitor
I've just read the bug at the Gnome bugtracker, the bug description is
critically different from this one - it does not request to
_incorrectly_ mark 'nice' as 'priority', but asks for adding another,
text based value of 'priority' or replacing nice values with it
completely by default.
Nice is not the same as priority - first of all, it could only be named
"reverse priority". Moreover, there IS a 'priority' numeric value which
is only indirectly connected to the nice value and "priority names" as
in windows (start 'top' and you'll see it).

Title:
Change "Nice" to "Priority" in System Monitor
Status in The GNOME System Monitor:
In Progress
Status in “gnome-system-monitor” package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor
In GNOME System Monitor, it has a column called "Nice".
* http://www.watchingthenet.com/wp-content/uploads/image/ubuntusysmonitor4.png
"Nice" comes from command 'nice';
* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nice_(Unix)
However, the term "Nice" doesn't tell a user who don't know it,
anything. The correct term to use would be "Priority" as that is what
it indicates.
