Title:
gedit crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()

Status in “gedit” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
precise alpha 1 on Acer Aspire 5253
  gedit /etc/samba/smb.conf
opened O.K., set network name, bconf to start of search list O.K.
tried to do a file open (which would be a second file) so I could copy some user info. Same as I always do.
got this crash. gedit would not open the second file.
