Title:
Lap hibernates when disconnected from AC power (and no, it's not a
battery issue)
Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
My system: Dell Inspiron 600m running Karmic Koala, 2.6.31-16 generic
kernel, GNOME 2.28.1
When I disconnect my AC power supply, the laptop goes into suspend or
hibernate (my next test will be to see if it thinks the lid is closed,
in which case this might be a duplicate bug). This does not happen
*every* time I disconnect AC power, but it does happen often enough
that it's frustrating/ annoying, probably one out of every three
disconnects.
This is *not* a bad battery issue. I can boot the laptop with the
battery and it will run just fine, and the battery discharges normally
(and will last for almost 2 hours).
This appears to be an issue with handling the event related to
disconnecting AC power.
