Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: evince

  When displaying simple mathematical document in .dvi format containing
  n-th root, the n is not displayed, or when in exponent it is displayed
  partialy.

  latex source:
  \documentclass{article}
  \include{amssymb}
  \beging{document}
  $\sqrt[3]{x}$

  $x^\sqrt[3]{x}$
  \end{document}

  Printed version of document looks ok - it is printed correctly.

  Making .ps or .pdf file from that .dvi also solves the problem with
  displaying the symbol.

  System information:

  Hardy Heron
  Output from lsb_release -rb:
  Description:	Ubuntu 8.04.1
  Release:	8.04
  GNOME evince 2.22.2
