Thank you for your bug report, could you get a stacktrace using gdb
showing where it hangs? if evince has the same issue is not likely to be
due to the gedit update

  Since upgraded Gedit to 3.2.3 when I click on Open icon in the toolbar
  gedit hans for 3-4 seconds before showing the Open file dialog.
