Thank you for taking timein filing the bug to make ubuntu better.
its the problem of facebook accounts or if you see on facebook using web than its chat list also change so its not the empathy bug.more over i will talk with the empathy developers.

  Empathy doesn't keep my liked contacts.

Bug description:
  I have two accounts, one for gmail and one for facebook with some shared contacts in them.
  I use empathy "link contacts" feature. But whenever I close empathy on the next start the contacts are unlinked again.
