I would look at and follow the other bug report, of only I could. But
launchpad says bug can not be found...

Title:
evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in efh_text_plain()
Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Hi there,
I'm running 64bit Ubuntu 11.10 Kernel 3.0.0-13 and Evolution evolution:
Installiert: 3.2.1-0ubuntu1
Kandidat: 3.2.1-0ubuntu1
Versionstabelle:
*** 3.2.1-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
3.2.0-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages
The installation is only a few days old (complete an new) and I've set
up Evolution as my mail program. Using gmail, google contacts and
google calender, it is just the app of choice.
When I try to view certain emails in evolution (of my gmail account), Evolution just crashes with a segmentation fault (Speicherzugriffsfehler).
I see very shortly before the crash some error message like:
Fehler beim Überprüfen der Signatur (translates to Error checking signature)
security library: improperly formatted DER-encoded... (can't read the rest, gone to quickly)
dmesg says:
[ 2644.539233] evolution[5546]: segfault at 30 ip 00007f003cf1a368 sp 00007f002f0eb780 error 4 in libevolution-mail.so.0.0.0[7f003ce9f000+ca000]
This seems to be linked to viewing certain mails of certain senders. I
can access most mails, but it seems that of a few senders I can only
see a few wheras most mails of these senders trigger the crash. It
seems that they have in common that they use e-mail certificates
(signed e-mails), but I can not 100% confirm this.
I think since the update to mbox, I might have that problem but I'm
not sure.
Any help appreciated. It's my first bug report, so please be patient
with me... :-)
Cheers
Helge
