I was able to reproduce today using an iPhone. I've opened Rhythmbox:
right-click on the iPhone and choose 'Properties'

  64-bit Rhythmbox calls 32-bit libgstpbutils-0.10.so.0.24.0 (gstreamer)
  whilst 64-bit library is available. Causing crash when syncing
