Title:
  [Thinkpad x201] File browse does not launch when media cards are
  inserted

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Doing some exploratory testing on Oneiric with the latest daily ISO
  and updates for 16 Sept 2011.

  During testing with checkbox, I tested the MMC reader by inserting
  various cards.  The cards (SD and SDHC) were recognized and mounted by
  the kernel, but in each case, the file browser did not launch.  No
  icon for drive appears on the launcher.  In fact, Unity gives no
  indication at all that the card was even recognized.  I had to check
  dmesg and mount to make sure the cards were actually mounted and
  visible.

  Expected outcome: when SD cards are inserted and mounted, the file
  broswer should open displaying the contents, or  at the very least, a
  launcher should appear on the dock providing obvious access to that
  card (along with some sort of notification to the user that the card
  is ready to use).
