Title:
With gedit window "full screen" (not maximized), spelling dialog is
inaccessible
Status in “gedit” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gedit
Metacity allows one to run a window "full screen", which hides all
window decorations and uses all screen real estate for the window.
This does NOT maximize the window. In this state, the spelling dialog
pops UNDER the main gedit window, and cannot be raised.
Steps to reproduce:
Start gedit
Make the window full-screen in Metacity (Go to System > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts to bind this to a key)
Type a misspelled word, I use "thate"
Go to Tools > Check Spelling
Observed behavior:
Check Spelling window is not visible. Using Alt-Tab, it appears in the window list and can be selected, but it never becomes visible. None of the controls of the gedit main window are accessible. One must Shift-Tab then Space to exit the window (ESC doesn't do it).
Expected behavior:
Check Spelling window appears above the main gedit window.
