Title:
Microsoft Bluetooth Elite Keyboard/Mouse Loses Connection
Status in “gnome-bluetooth” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Not sure what package this bug is related to, but it involves the
Microsoft Bluetooth Elite keyboard and mouse combination.
When setting up the keyboard and mouse combination initially using the
bluetooth-applet, both respond and work fine. In addition, they will
still work after periods of inactivity after a few seconds of moving
the mouse or hitting keys on the keyboard.
However, the issue occurs directly after a reboot. After rebooting
and GNOME fully loads and logs in the user (automatically), the
keyboard and mouse no longer work. Both devices still show up under
the bluetooth-applet menu as "Microsoft Mouse" and "Microsoft
Keyboard" and both have grayed-out "Connected" with a blackend
"Disconnect directly underneath. In the "Preferences" applet, both
device are also present but are not connect nor connect after
moving/click the mouse or keyboard for over 30 seconds continuously.
Strange behavior though - Upon reboot and the new Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic
splash screen appears, the bluetooth mouse DOES work (can't test the
keyboard since input isn't accepted at this point). However, a few
seconds before the Ubuntu sound plays, this is when the mouse and
keyboard completely stop working.
This is from a fully fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic (development
branch) with all updates installed up until October 4th.
Microsoft USB dongle shows as "Broadcom BCM2035" under the "Friendly
Name" field in the bluetooth-applet's "Preferences" dialog box.
