the same as it does in Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2007 via WINE.

4) What happened instead via the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && wget
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/695898/+attachment/1780067/+files/example.ppt.bz2
&& file-roller -h example.ppt.bz2 && loimpress -nologo example.ppt

is that some font sizes are larger in Impress (slide 6) than in MSPP.

  I do not have access to MSPP, nor does my friend who gave me the
  presentation (recently migrated to Ubuntu).
