all these 'resume resume_offset' options don't make sense, going to use
swap partition

  power management
  using swap file (not partition), 2*system ram, 

  upon low battery hibernation, after several seconds of black text
  screen with blinking curser recieve:

  [xxxxxxxxxx] pm: swap header not found

  hibernation is aborted.

  seems to be prevailing problem from previous releases.

  there is a proposed work around, however reports that the work around
  no longer works in 10.10
