[Bug 649809] Re: the session settings manager can try starting before the login screen one exits
Having the same issue in Oneric, random occurences, sometimes reboot works, sometimes requires multiple reboots. Although still not sure if this is related to the bug mentioned here, or the one over here...
http://askubuntu.com/questions/21305/desktop-forgets-theme
Am running an old Athlon with regular HDD, although nVidia chipset
present on mobo. Haven't tried yet the timings with the daemons but will
look at that next.
Just thought I'd add that this IS still occuring on a Oneric environment

Bug description:
On recent configurations it can happen that the session settings
manager try starting before the login screen one exit leading to have
no theme set in the session (nor other settings gnome-settings-daemon
is applying to the user configuration)
The .xsession-errors log contains that error on configuration hitting
the issue:
"** (gnome-settings-daemon:1941): WARNING **: You can only run one
xsettings manager at a time; exiting"
