Marking as dupe of but 865957. 
As a workaround please install mesa-utils.

   the system info tab needs glxinfo to get the video card infos (not installed by default)

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  System Settings->System Info->Overview
   shows "unknown" for Graphics.  It should show the brand and model
