I am sure latin speakers miss poppler-data when looking at it

Status in “language-selector” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Since poppler-data is no longer "non free" it should be part of the
  default install (or at least a direct dependency of poppler itself)
  since otherwise there are files that won't be readable.
