There's no more output. I can add to it that it does not exit, but it
becomes unresponsive to any click.

Additionally prior to the freeze,  the Ubuntu dialog pops up with "Ask
what to do" etc. and that disappears immediately. It just flashes for a
second. I'm not sure if that's relevant.
