Message #62259
[Bug 911276] Re: firefox flash videos blocks area in other tabs
Observed this to happen with the Adobe Reader 9.4 plugin too (nppdf.so).
Only worse.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open a pdf in a new tab
2) Adobe plugin renders pdf inside tab
3) open another tab
4) navigate to site (e.g. www.gmail.com)
5) interact with site (e.g. try to login)
Expected result:
interactions can be seen (e.g. clicking on links changes colour, entering into text boxes shows characters entered, etc)
Actual result:
can't see any interactions
This is worse since the pdf reader plugin is the whole size of the tab
and not just limited to the size of a flash video so you really can't do
anything :(

Title:
firefox flash videos blocks area in other tabs
Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Firefox 9.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.11.10.2
Shockwave Flash 11.2 d202
Ubuntu Oneiric x86
Only noticed this when upgraded to FF9 via update manager.
Watching a video in one tab then switch to another tab. Partial areas
of the other tab can't be viewed whilst the flash video is running.
Area is exact size of flash video see attached screenshot.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Load flash video in one tab
2) Open another tab and browse to website
Expected result:
Flash video in one tab does not interfere with the content of the the second tab
Actual result:
Flash video area (but not playing video) is carried over to second tab making navigation in second tab imposible
