[Bug 819705] Re: Audio and Video-chat doesn't work at all

 

Can you go to the Skype Options and select the Video Devices page and
tell us what it displays under 'Select Webcam'.

Have you got more than one web cam listed?

Also can you test it using Cheese (you may have to install it).

Its is worth noting that both Skype and the Googletalk-browser plugin
are proprietary software that may have capabilities to  recognise web
cams that other Linux programs cannot.

  The menu-entries for audio and video cha are grayed out, even for my
  contacts which are using Jabber or Googletalk. Over the Googletalk-
  browser plug-in I can make Audio and Video calls to them.
