Like described in the bug, I also have this issue in Linux Mint 12, which is based on Ubuntu 11.10.
So I suppose this bug is present there too, in LibreOffice 3.4.4 (AMD64).

  && lowriter -nologo Document1.docx

  is the file opens successfully.

  4) What happens instead is LibreOffice gives a general error, general
  input/output error. The file was created on skydrive.live.com,

  WORKAROUND: Open via Abiword.
