[Bug 917767] Re: New control features are not automatically added to system settings

This dialog is the system settings, it's not supposed to be "random
applications you install", so the need to add external components is
limited

Note that our version of the control center allows external components
to add icons (the backup icon for example is built from a different
source) so it's not "locked" (upstream disagrees with that and dropped
the integration library but that's another story, we keep it for Ubunu),
the main difference is that other components can't simply add a simple
.desktop but have actually to make some efforts to get their dialog
showing nicely in the ui.

Title:
New control features are not automatically added to system settings

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
In Oneiric the new version of the control center doesn't
automatically add for example the Nvidia control center or CCSM , as
it used to in Natty . I don't know if it's intended or not , but it's
definitely not improving (and by that I mean it's worsening) the
  service .
