There are now updated packages in lucid-proposed which should address
this issue.

  I upgraded firefox-branding and firefox-gnome-support without firefox package for Lucid.
  It brokes firefox installation. Now I can't run firefox.

  I think it should be not possible to install firefox-branding and
  firefox-gnome-support without firefox package
