Title:
evolution mail: Unable to retrieve message

Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This bug occurs when I am using my notebook at home, connected to internet via a 3G modem.
  Steps to reproduce the bug:

1.) Configure evolution so that it uses an IMAP protocol for receiving
emails from a server, encrypted by SSL.

2.) Sending is via SMPT, also SSL (but other server). This step is not
  important I guess.

3.) Have at least two machines with this configuration (say that one
is at work, other at home).

4.) Being at work, read all your new emails using evolution on your
desktop machine at work (not on the home notebook) and leave them in
the incoming mail box. They are now marked as read.

5.) Close evolution on your desktop machine at work.

6.) Go home and start evolution on your notebook connected by a 3G
  modem.

7.) There are a few new emails (shown on the top of the list, indicated by bold font).
Say that there are 3 new messages (emails), but particular number is not too important.

8.) Go to the 2nd message, read it and delete. (I.e. skip the 1st
  message.)

9.) Evolution then automatically starts to display the 3rd message.
Imagine that you do not want to read it and you IMMEDIATELY delete it,
much faster than the 1.5 sec interval which the criterion if a message was read or not.
In my case the 3rd message has been written in Russian language but I do not know if this is important.
I every evening receive one message written in this language and I usually do not read it.

9.) And then it appears: instead of showing you content of the 4th
email (the one which you already have read at work on the other
computer), evolution on the notebook just shows you:

  "Unable to retrieve message"
"This message is not currently available"

This happens to me very often, virtually every day.
If I want to see the content of the refused-to-be-shown email, I must click on some other email below.
It is displayed. Then, I click on the refused message and can finally see its content.

A remark to my point 8: If you started to read from the 1st new message, the problem would likely happen too.
  I am not sure however.

I guess that the bug may have something to do with relatively high
latency of the 3G network connection, but I am not sure.

See also attachment with some of my email preferences, especially
  concerning deletion of mails.
