[Bug 913700] Re: cannot open any pdf document with evince

found a way to correct the evince behavior:
the environment variable TMPDIR was set to ~/tmp. once i removed the TMPDIR variable, evince was working.

not sure, but might it relate to apparmor configuration ?

Title:
cannot open any pdf document with evince

Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:

  binary: /usr/bin/evince
  ubuntu version: 11.04
  evince version: 2.32.0-0ubuntu12.3

  expectation:
when opening a pdf file from evince, pdf pages are displayed in the evince application

  problem:
when trying to open any pdf file with evince, the evince program raises cpu usage to 96% of a single CPU and displays empty pages only.

  to further test:
1- i have installed a vmware virtual machine (on the same ubuntu host) running the same os (ubuntu 11.04), providing access to the same files that failed opening: it opens same file with no problem.
2- i installed adobe's acrobat reader on same host: it opens same file with no problem
