nautilus drops ftp connection when uploading files

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: nautilus

This is another bug report about nautilus dropping a ftp connection
when uploading files. Many people subscribe to other bug reports
describing the same problem but the other bugreports are always set
to invalid state. This is really annoying, as obviously many people
experience the bug but the issue is not taken serious.
