[Bug 919027] Re: headphone which works windows platform does not work in Linux partition having Ubuntu

Hi there,
Thanks for your bug report. You're running Ubuntu 10.10. It may be prudent to upgrade to 11.04, or preferably 11.10, as it's possible that you're problem is fixed in a newer version of Ubuntu. Also, 10.10 will no longer be supported starting in April, so there's another reason to upgrade! In any case I'm re-targeting this to alsa-driver for you, as that's the correct package for a problem like this. If upgrading doesn't solve your problem, or isn't an option, hopefully someone more familiar with debugging sound problems can help you out.

** Package changed: software-center (Ubuntu) => alsa-driver (Ubuntu)

Bug description:
  Hi All!
  When I use headphone with green pin in the green coloured jack, it works fine on Windows platform. Laptop speakers automatically are switched off while headphone is on. On other partition which has Ubuntu, Headphone does not work at all.
  First tell me how to know what version Ubuntu I have. I know it is in 10. series.
