[Bug 915107] Re: network applet does not work properly for wireless

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

Title:
network applet does not work properly for wireless

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  two things.

The Wireless driver stopped working after today's apt-get update /
  upgrade / kernel upgrade.

Also, before this problem appeared, wireless config applet in gnome-
control-center would only work for dhcp configs.

This PC is a laptop with two accounts. admin and non-admin. using
dhcp, a non-admin person could get a IP address over wireless and
work. I logged in as me, admin, and changed to config to be manual IP
address. I checked "for all users". but that really didnt work. If I
logged out, rebooted, and logged in as non-admin person, the laptop's
network would not work . The non-admin person gets asked for admin
person to login and give permissions. Hence, that little check box to
allow all users, really does not work.

The admin person can then login and IP networking would work over
wireless, until reboot... except for this last patch upgrade and
wireless driver stopped working all together.
