[Bug 921867] Re: Lightdm regression, possible g-s-d crash, no session menu

I can confirm the cog isn't there until you click another user and go
back again. The rest works for me right now.

Title:
Lightdm regression, possible g-s-d crash, no session menu

Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Logon screen has white icons in the top right except clock which is black.
Clicking on icons in top left reveals undecorated menus suggesting theme is disabled (gnome-settings-daemon crash?)
Cog is missing from user selection so impossible to select a different desktop (e.g. unity 2d).

Selecting a different user and then coming back re-enables the cog.

Once logged in the theme is still broken, again indicating g-s-d has
  crashed?
