Message #69623
[Bug 918928] Re: Display fades too quickly
This bug was fixed in the package gnome-settings-daemon -
3.2.2-0ubuntu12
---------------
gnome-settings-daemon (3.2.2-0ubuntu12) precise; urgency=low
* Updated some patches with bug references
* debian/patches/02_missing_libs.patch:
- dropped, that patch is a leftover and not required nowadays
* debian/patches/16_use_synchronous_notifications.patch:
- use the correct widget so the media key sounds work (lp: #909407)

* debian/gnome-settings-daemon.gsettings-override: Set default idle dim time
to 30 seconds. 10 seconds is a bit unnerving when you want to read
something or show photos. (LP: #918928)

Title:
Display fades too quickly
Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
With my laptop on battery the display goes from current brightness to
dim in 10 seconds. This seems way too short to me. I can barely read
half a page on the screen without having to either stab keys or
randomly move the mouse to keep the screen alive. A longer interval
might be preferable?
