Title:
NM displays "disconnected..." notification even after connection is
reestablished
Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Expected behavior: After disconnecting computer from network,
notification appears saying "Disconnected, you are now offline". On
reconnection to network, notification disappears and is replaced by
"Reconnected to network" or words to that effect. This notification
then ideally disappears without needing to be manually acknowledged.
Actual behavior: Notification appears after disconnecting from
network, but does not go away until manually acknowledged, even after
connecting to a network again; at that point, it is telling the user
something that is false.
Environment: Ubuntu 11.10, running Gnome Shell (Gnome3), with network-
manager-gnome 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu6.
