[Bug 914369] Re: No reliable way to get file path after searching files
I am usig Linux Ubuntu 11.10 and I totally agree with that! This should
be fixed, because it would improve the system software and make it
easier to find files . :D

Title:
No reliable way to get file path after searching files
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
When I open a Home Folder window and search for a file using the
search box at top right, there is no reliable way to discover the path
of the objects that the searcher found.
I can't see the path no matter what view I select.
I can't right-click and select anything that lets me open the parent
folder of the item. (In Windows 7, it's called "Open file location".)
SOMETIMES I can get the path if I right-click and select Properties,
but if the path is too long, it's truncated, ending with an ellipsis
(...).
We need a clear way to get the path of items in case we want to do
something that's not feasible with the options available in the search
results.
