Message #73433
[Bug 1051442] Re: Rhythmbox doesn't subscribe when called with iptc url
Any ETA on a fix for this? Will this be fixed before 14.10 is released?
This also affects subscribing to a podcast from Firefox - IIRC you used
to be able to view a podcast, select /usr/bin/rhythmbox and subscribe to
a podcast, and it's no longer possible to do this.
This is especially troubling since the gi.repository bindings are apparently also broken, as described here:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24100017
In other words, no way for other applications to subscribe a podcast,
except ask user to go to podcasts, add, paste in a url, subscribe.

Title:
Rhythmbox doesn't subscribe when called with iptc url
Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Rhythmbox no longer subscribes to a url when called with an
itpc://urlofpodcast link.
I selected subscribe from tunesviewer, it searched for itpc://url as
the name of the podcast, instead of subscribing to it.
