[Bug 1308895] Re: FFe: Please merge usb-modeswitch from Debian unstable - Huawei E3531 does not automatically switches to modem mode (no udev rules for this modem in Ubuntu's /lib/udev/rules.d)
I do not understand ... to make a new bug report, someone updated the
USB-modeswitch packages in the Ubuntu repositories. Installed Ubutnu
14.10 (Utopic Unicorn) and there is still the old version of the
package. What is the general problem?

Bug description:
Lots of other Huawei related issues, like bug # 1192297 are fixed in
updated usb-modeswitch (2.2.0+repack0-2) and usb-modeswitch-data
(20140529-1) packages in Debian unstable.
Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre already did the merging job (see branch
bellow) - please merge usb-modeswitch 2.2.0+repack0-2 package from
Debian unstable to Ubuntu 14.10 (Utopic).
There is usb-modeswitch 2.2.0+repack0-2 packaging code with patches:
