No, what I meant was I didn't know how to find it [to navigate to it]. I
also now after having for the first time started a session in Gnome
can't get into 14.04 at all. I imagine I'd have to re-install grub or
otherwise fight with it. I'm looking into that disk from 12.04, but
can't locate the log file. Where is it. That path is not clear to me. I
don't know what folder has all the .program files. Sorry.
The comment was chatty. I'm such a newbee, I thought your 'email' to me
was an email and not something that would appear on the bug report.
Sorry. Forget the comment. It was a joke.
Yes, WHEN I can get into 14.04 and only have folders on the desktop, I
can click on them and view the contents....but I can launch no program
that I want to nor open a terminal.

Title:
Gnome Fallback[s] don't work in 14.04. Work once ONLY if reinstalled
Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
While the computer is saying its a problem with gnome-panel, I keep
re-installing gnome-session-fallback. It will work [in either flavor
of fallback (no idea why there are now two!) ONE TIME - but the next
time I get a screen with NO panels and NO keyboard shortcuts are
recognized (so I can't even get a terminal). All I can do is hard
shut-down of computer; restart into gnome or unity or some others
(which I do NOT like to use!). I have done this MANY times now. It
never stays 'done'. Am going back to my copy ov 12.04 until someone
can tell me why or how to make one of the fallbacks (hopefully both)
work every time I sign in to 14.04. Thank you. Anyone else having
similar problems? The only other thing I can think of is that I
upgraded from 12.04 in which fallback operated just fine and was
stable.
