Title:
Evince: Invisible text in PDF file

Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Certain format produces transparent text when viewing PDF on the
screen. The text remains invisible even if formatted. The only way to
get to see that text is to copy-paste it blindly into the text editor
or the terminal. To reproduce, see for instance an O'Relly Book
"Running Linux 4th Edition" which is available for download free of
charge and is attached to this bug report for your convenience.

Scroll down to any page containing commands to be entered into the
terminal on the command line. Any text after the command prompt is
invisible. For instance, at the bottom of page 58 the "fdisk" command
does not appear after the # (root prompt) on the command line.
"swapon"command cannot be seen at the bottom of page 62 and so forth.
