[Bug 1385182] Re: no panel/dash after login following a Ubuntu 14.10 installation
The two following commands seems to have solved the issue :
>dconf reset -f /org/compiz/
>setsid unity

Title:
no panel/dash after login following a Ubuntu 14.10 installation
Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
The hardware is a laptop HP Pavilion dm1 that has been running Ubuntu for years.
I tried to upgrade to 14.10 (I had the fglrx driver at that time). The upgrade went smooothly but when I came back to the login script. I logged in and no unity panel/dash....
I then reinstalled from scracth to 14.10. So now it is installed with the free driver but I get exactly the same error.
If I go to CTRL+ALT+F1 I can run any application after exporting my display.
14.04 was working perfectly.
