  [Acer Aspire M5] Touchpad not working

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  This is a bug related to [bug 1058346].
  I'm using Ubuntu Trusty and the problem with the touchpad still exists with the latest updates from the repository.
  The workaround of turning on the touchpad before login works for me, but it is very annoying, specially because multiple user work on the laptop and not all of them know of the workaround.
  I've notice that there's no more development in the original bug, so I decided to report it again here, as requested by other people in the thread.
