I can conrifmr that installing the 2.99.916 package fixes the drop
shadow issue

  Hello,

  with GTK3.14 Intel driver has a problem which is fixed in 2.99.916
  (now in Debian experimental).

  Can you please consider to update this package in Vivid and backport
  it in Utopic?

  See the attached image to understand the problem with GTK3.14 shadows.
