Title:
[Asus X550LB] screen freezes when pointer is moved with touchpad
Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
on a freshly installed trusty (kubuntu) & asus x550lb notebook, nvidia geforce gt 740m, with an elantech touchpad, when moving the pointer with touchpad, the screen suddenly freezes. additionally, when the problem occurs, the following message is logged to the syslog:
acpid: client 11187[0:0] has disconnected
switching to character mode and back after waiting a few seconds (ctrl+alt+f1, ctrl+alt_f7) makes the problem disappear and the i see in the syslog the following:
acpid: client connected from 11187[0:0]
acpid: 1 client rule loaded
if i do something during the freeze (moving the pointer, clicking
etc), it happens after the switchback.
