Title:
Raster images printing as negatives when trying to print PDFs

Status in “cups” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
When printing PDFs from Ubuntu 14.04 on a network printer, things
mostly print OK but raster images are printed in negative. Vector
images appear unaffected, and the document displays on screen
  correctly.

The source PDFs are generated with Latex or with Adobe products and
seem OK when viewed on other platforms, and on screen rendering in
Ubuntu using the image viewer works OK too. However, the physical
pages coming out of the printer (an HP laser in this case) are normal
for text and vector stuff but the rasters show up as negative - white
  is black, etc.

This bug did not occur previously with Ubuntu 12.04 and the same
  hardware, network connection, and file.
