Though Unity and the Unity Greeter have gone through leaps and bounds to
get better, the issue is still present yet not as noticeable as before.

Bug description:
  The mouse pointer is intermittently jerky.  Sometimes, the response is
  nil for a second or thereabouts.  Very disturbing.

  Note video is ATI Radeon 9200 and no custom drivers are used (or
  available).
