Verified in Trusty verbatim as per Bug Description. As per Marc Deslauriers, this is resolved in 4.3.3 Utopic:

Björn Michaelsen, given the impact this has, would it be best to just
revert this commit for PROPOSED testing to see if this resolves the
issue, or backport the fix commit(s) from 4.3.3?

  Update to LibreOffice 4.2.7 is causing incorrect sort behaviour in
  Calc.
