Title:
for some URLs opening a link in the terminal says, 'operator not
  supported'

Status in GVFS:
  Expired
Status in “gvfs” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Opening some links with right-click -> Open Link in gnome-terminal causes this popup, with "Could not open the address .... operation not supported"
Here's the extra details, something to do with gconf keys:
Bad key or directory name: "/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/": Key/directory may not end with a slash '/'

  Here is my /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http :
  command: 'firefox %s',
  enabled: True,
  needs_terminal: False

But the weird and important thing is that I've only encountered this
bug with one URL so far.

Here is one URL for which right-click -> Open Link gets this bug:
  http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0003832
Here is one for which it doesn't:
  http://news.ycombinator.net

  I'm using gnome-terminal=2.24.1.1-0ubuntu1
