Title:
real-time updates incorrect (show size as always 0)
Status in “baobab” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
the real-time updates to the information about the directories as they
are scanned is pretty pointless. Until the complete search is
finished all folders are shown as 0 bytes. That information is
misleading. This is a change/regression from previous versions of
baobab.
Upon closer inspection, this turns out to be very odd indeed. The
first level directory (~ in case of scanning the home folder) can of
course only be fully updated once the scanning comes to a final end.
Even then, real-time updates on how many GB have been tallied up so
far would be interesting, I guess. Second level directories remain at
0 as well, which is the main point of this ticket. Third-level
directories are already correctly reported, though. Especially the
discrepancy in treatment between second and third level directories
are at the foundation of the oddity in the current behaviour.
version 3.8.2-1ubuntu1 of baobab in trusty
