Gnome-sound-recorder is now a separate package and will be dropped from
gnome-media in the next ubuntu release

Bug description:
  Sound recorder 3.4 does not work.

   - Does not show any activity under "Level".
   - Nothing happens after clicking the record button, choosing record from the menu or after pressing Ctrl+R.
   - Recording works in other applications.
   - Input tab under sound settings shows activity on input.
