Title:
8086:0116 [i915] Screen display corruption resizing LibreOffice Calc
window Acer Aspire 5750-9668
Status in X.org xf86-video-intel:
Invalid
Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Status in “xfwm4” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch)
Release: 14.04
2) apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-intel Installed: 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1
apt-cache policy libreoffice-calc Installed: 1:4.2.3~rc2-0ubuntu1
3) What is expected to happen in a blank Calc document is when one
resizes the window, it does not have screen display corruptions.
4) What happens is it does as per attached screenshot
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-
intel/+bug/871972/+attachment/2535351/+files/screenshot.png .
Following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace please see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-
intel/+bug/871972/+attachment/2535349/+files/gdb-libreoffice.txt for
backtrace information.
Toggling Settings -> Window Manager Tweaks -> Compositor -> Enable
display compositing checkbox made no difference.
As well, this would appear to have never been a UXA bug as I'm currently using SNA and it's still reproducible verbatim:
grep "SNA init" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
[ 6.059] (II) intel(0): SNA initialized with Sandybridge (gen6, gt2) backend
The problem has been reproducible since:
1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10
apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-intel Installed: 2:2.15.901-1ubuntu2
apt-cache policy libreoffice-calc libreoffice-calc: Installed: 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2
This was not reproducible in a Natty 11.04 live CD, so this may be a regression:
xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.14.0-4ubuntu7
This is not reproducible in GNOME Flashback (Metacity). However, this
would not quite be a WORKAROUND as it has bugs when utilizing the
touchpad, preventing me from switching to it from XFCE.
WORKAROUND: The screen display corruptions are reversed maximizing,
and then restoring the window.
