Title:
searching from Nautilus automatically increases "location" column
width
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Sometimes when searching from within nautilus "name" column width gets
automatically reduced (list view) and "location" column width gets
automatically increased. Instead of all column width(s) remaining the
same size which is what should happen. This happens when Nautilus
finds files deep nested in your folders.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a nautilus window by clicking on the launcher icon.
2. Navigate to root directory (computer) or a mounted volume on a different hard drive.
3. Switch to "view items as list" and click search button
4. Now search for any file e.g. "xls" file or "deb".
What happens:
1. The "name" column starts getting reduced automatically as soon as it starts to find file deeper nested in to your folder(s).
2. And the "location" colunmn gets automatically wider to show the entire location so much so that you cant even see the file names anymore.
What should happen:
The "name" column width must not be disturbed instead "location"
column should get truncated and we should only see a partial location
instead of the full location.
system info: ubuntu 14.04 LTS files 3.10.1
